We acknowledge the remarkable work of local historian Edward Stinson who spent a lifetime researching the history of Wyong. Harold 'Mick' Bailey's parents bought land in Swadling Street in 1946 and built the first brick veneer home in Wyong Shire. Mr Bailey was involved with the Toowoon Bay SLSC for many years. Wyong Historic Subdivision Plans

These subdivision plans were created by developers to advertise blocks of land in the Shire in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. They provide an insight into how the land was marketed to potential homebuyers. Street names may have changed over time.

Wyong Shire Council 1947-2016

 

Wyong Shire Council came into existence on 1st January 1947. The initial council was an interim one selected by the community. Elections were held for the first Wyong Shire Council on 6 December, 1947. Council operated until 12 May, 2016 when it amalgamated with Gosford City Council to become the Central Coast Council.
